According to several sources, Microsoft's Windows team has just completed the development of the first milestone version of Windows Blue (Milestone 1,m1), which will be the first upgraded application version of Windows 8.

The completion of M1 means that Windows Blue is half done and M2 will be the terminal of Windows blue, according to people familiar with the matter.

It's hard to predict what will happen next, will Microsoft launch a consumer preview of Windows Blue? A developer preview version of Windows Blue or directly from the internal milestone version directly to the final release version? (If the Windows team insists that its Windows Blue final release date is August 2013, then Microsoft has a very high probability of launching an internal milestone version.) )

A screen shot of Windows Blue was posted online February 19, confirming the presence of M1, and then M1 was revealed to have been developed.

Screen capture the Wzor team (via winaero.com) says Windows Blue is a system developed based on Windows 6.3. People familiar with the matter said the news was true. Windows 7 is version 6.1 and Windows 8 is version 6.3. (Windows 6.3 is the version number submitted to the application, and when querying a new platform, let the application know that it is running on a new version of Windows.) )

Windows Blue is considered to be the first annual operating system update for Windows 8. Windows Phone Blue will also be expected to share the core code of Windows blue. (But as with the Windows Phone 8 operating system, version 8.0, the core version number of Windows Phone blue will be different from Windows 6.3.) )

Microsoft officials have yet to comment on any news about Windows blue.

Microsoft wants to position it as an update to Windows 8 instead of Windows 9. While Microsoft employees point out in their LinkedIn documents that they are working on Windows 9 Development, it sounds as if the Windows team is completely focused on Windows 8 and its future updates. The puzzle is whether and when Microsoft will launch Windows 9, does Microsoft plan to provide Windows updates every year, or does it update each three years?

Microsoft recently posted a vacancy for Windows and Windows Phone team members to recruit new recruits to develop Windows blue, but the page has now been deleted.
