Richard Wiseman, a professor and psychologist at the University of Hertfordshire, Wiseman, has developed a free iphone application that manipulates people's dreams when they sleep, according to foreign media reports. The iphone app, called Dream:on, uses sound to inspire different dreams. By putting the phone on the bed, when the user is asleep, the app changes the sound the phone is playing, creating a different sound atmosphere, and manipulating the user's dreams, such as walking in the woods, lying on the beach, or walking in a quiet garden. Wiseman hopes to attract thousands of of people to the dream manipulation experiment, saying that good night sleep and pleasant dreams can improve creativity and promote mental and physical health. We know very little about how to influence dreams, and this experiment is designed to change that.
