"Intelligent cloud computing-the platform of the Internet of Things" (2nd Edition), chapter 12th is about the extension of cloud computing-the Internet of things. This section introduces the concept and architecture of IoT cloud.

The Internet cloud is a cloud solution designed for the development, testing, delivery, and operation of IoT applications. In addition to the basic features of cloud computing, such as dynamic delivery and resilient expansion, the Internet cloud can also help with all levels of the internet of things. IoT Cloud can provide a huge amount of computing and storage resources for IoT applications, and unified data storage format and processing and analysis means, at the same time, the IoT cloud also provides application integration interface, can greatly simplify the application delivery process, reduce delivery costs, build a device provider, application developers, Service operators and industry users constitute the ecosystem, promoting the development of the Internet of things.

As shown in Figure 12-7, the architecture of the IoT cloud mainly includes the hardware virtualization framework of the IoT cloud, the perceptual devices, the object networking application middleware, and the service management. The components together constitute the object networking application platform, which serves the operators and end-users of IoT applications. The main functions of each section are as follows:

1. Hardware Virtualization Framework

The hardware virtualization framework defines the physical hardware resources such as servers, storage devices, network devices, and the corresponding virtualization methods and technologies that are managed by the cloud computing platform and delivers these resources to the user in a virtualized manner.

2. Sensory devices

Sensing devices mainly include sensors, RFID, controllers and other intelligent terminals, as well as the realization of terminal interconnection of the sensor network. The perceptual devices are connected to the cloud computing platform through the network and managed by the middleware of the internet of things.

3. IoT Application Middleware

The middleware of IoT application mainly realizes the function of terminal equipment access, Rfid/sensor event management, data storage and IoT application, it contains a series of related middleware products.

4. Service Management

Service management mainly includes the service portal of IoT Cloud, the application of IoT and the lifecycle management of service. In addition to managing it physical hardware and virtualized resources, the services management of the IoT cloud includes the management of the system architecture, events, and distributed architecture data platforms for perceived devices.
