Google has announced that its Chrome Web store's app sales platform is open around the world, while reducing developer commission rates to 5%. Vikas Gupta, the company's product manager, said the store supports 41 languages and the number of users is 160 million. At the same time Gupta said it would be wise to reduce the developer's submission fee. In this way, the developer's program revenue will be 95% into their own pockets. Apple currently sets a standard commission rate of 30% for developers, as do other companies. Google wants to encourage developers to develop more programs for the Chrome platform by reducing commission rates. In the first three months of the U.S. release of the Chrome Web Store, about 17 million applications were downloaded and installed. Google's data show that consumers spend twice times as much time on applications as other vendors. The first application of the Internet store is Angry Birds.
