The first Firefox system smartphone developed by Firefox Foundation sold out for hours

According to foreign media reports, Mozilla Foundation developed Firefox system smartphone developers Keon and Peak, the day after the sale of the Spanish online retailer Geeksphone, sold out within hours.

When the Mozilla Foundation announced that it would develop an open source HTML5-centric handset, many questioned whether the system could succeed and compete with Google's Android. But the developer community seemed interested in the system because Geeksphone, a startup for smart phone OEMs, sold $ 119 for Keon and $ 194 for the more powerful Peak, which sold out in hours.

Geeksphone website shows that these two phones "no stock", each phone page says "the product is out of stock", but no more explanation. On the same day, Peak phones went on sale earlier, but Keon phones sold out earlier. The Keon phones have a Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 4GB of memory and a 3.5-inch 480x320 screen, while Peak has a 1.2GHz processor, 8MP camera and a 4.3-inch 960x540 display.

Both phones are essentially "preview" phones, giving developers a chance to experiment with this new Linux-based system. Firefox will be officially listed in June. Although the developer preview version of the phone is only available in small quantities, it's great to see the developer community so passionately seeking systems other than Apple, Google, Microsoft, and BlackBerry.

Instead of being prepared for the consumer, both Firefox phones are designed for developers to test their applications for Firefox. Mainstream Firefox handsets are expected to be produced by ZTE, Alcatel, LG Electronics and Huawei, and will be available next year. Sony also plans to launch a Firefox phone at 3721.html "> 2014.
