The revenue from Alibaba's cloud computing business is small compared with the revenues that rely mainly on advertising and commission, but with the rapid increase in trading on the Aliping platform, data-management services could be a major step forward for Alibaba.
Alibaba set up its cloud computing business unit in 2009 to meet the needs of sellers using its platform. Alibaba last week's IPO document showed that its cloud computing business earned $90 million trillion in the last three quarters of 2013, accounting for 1.4% of the group's total revenue.
With the establishment of the Aliyun Hong Kong data center, Alibaba's Taobao cat from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore, the beginning of the world to go. Aliyun official website shows, already in China's Hangzhou, Qingdao and Beijing has a data center.
