The development of rural mobile broadband in France is expected to be earlier than in other parts of the world. Eric Besson, Minister of Industry, Energy and digital economics Eric Besson, said French operators would be allowed to buy more spectrum resources. Last week, French telecoms regulator Arcep revealed plans to start the LTE spectrum auction by the end of this month. The auction has a total spectrum of 30MHz, with each operator allowed to buy up to 15MHz spectrum. The spectrum that is about to be sold is a scarce 800MHz range. In fact, in other European countries, including Sweden and Germany, operators can only buy 10MHz of spectrum. In the United States, mobile operators Verizon's LTE network also has only 10MHz of spectrum. More spectrum resources means that operators can use the same approach to provide customers with more bandwidth. Demand for higher speeds forced operators to buy more spectrum numbers. The network and modem must also have the ability to handle more multi-channel. Apparently, operators are reluctant to disclose their plans. A spokesman for France Telecom said in an e-mail that the upcoming LTE spectrum auction would not be reviewed. The Ericsson spokesman said that the LTE wireless base station can now be compatible with more channels. However, modems will be more challenging. The 800MHz band will use more channels, which have more requirements for RF components, and this improvement is not a short time to complete. 800MHz Spectrum has great allure to operators. Because of the low spectrum, 800MHz spectrum can provide better indoor coverage. In rural areas, the quality of the signal transmission capacity makes the full coverage of only a few base stations, while reducing the overall impact on the environment. In addition, the 800Mhz-band LTE deployment is also an ideal complement to the deployment of LTE in the 2.6GHz band, such as in a dense urban environment. As a result, more spectrum will not be used immediately, but as technology and market development will change. At the same time, the next generation mobile network will allow carriers to use carrier technology to gather different frequency bands of technology. Although the 800MHz band has a very good advantage, but due to limited resources, it is difficult to meet the needs of operators, in this case, 1.8GHz band is as an alternative, and for operators to provide better coverage and faster transmission.
