The National Meteorological Information Center stores and preserves more than 50 of years of valuable long history data, which are often used in real-time, quasi real time operations and scientific research, and are subject to meteorological science calculations. Because of the large amount of historical data and the long time consuming, How to get the required results in a short time is the main research goal of this paper. By building a cloud computing platform and using the 30 climate data statistics to compile the research object, on the cloud computing platform based on MapReduce distributed parallel computing model to carry out a variety of statistical projects, The algorithm of statistical method is implemented. The computational efficiency is compared by modifying the configuration of the cloud computing platform and running the same computing task under different configuration.
