Everywhere is a storm of the layout, it looks like a scoop of cold water. But, having a closer look at Wei's comments on his previous evaluations of the cloud computing industry, the author believes he is not a supporter of development, and that this assessment is but a two-point risk warning from two levels.

The first level of warning is the superficial meaning: The local government currently adopted the cloud computing development strategy, many are blindly purchasing a large number of server resources, Dajian data center; the second level of warning, the author believes that with concealment. That is, many of the local cloud computing projects, more out of investment thinking, which accompanies the land economy model.

The first layer is relatively easy to understand. In the eyes of many people in the industry, cloud computing is not a technological innovation, but the application of innovation and grafting, it can be implemented through the integration of existing resources, rather than all the procurement of new infrastructure services, especially the large number of servers and mass storage, large data centers do not need to "everywhere."

The second level of warning is hard to see. The author believes that the purchase of a large number of servers and mass storage equipment, Dajian data center, requires a lot of land. It is seen that many local governments have even opened up industrial parks for this, and there is no fundamental difference between the development model of traditional industries, which is the investment and land issues behind it.

An analyst at the Internet industry said that local governments seem to be more interested in the latter because they are now developing traditional manufacturing thankless, and many projects are difficult to pass through, but cloud computing is wearing a technology coat that is easy to fall into and receive state-related subsidies.

The author believes that the Wei minister's words extend out, there is a bleak reality, that is, a large number of "cloud computing" project, but it is difficult to truly improve the strength of local enterprises and related industries. Because, up to now, the world's first few major server giants, the basic multinational companies, Hewlett-Packard, IBM ranked top two, while the storage area, EMC, Dell and other companies accounted for a large share of the database, IBM, Oracle, etc. are at the forefront of the field of operating systems, Microsoft Windows, UNIX is in a monopolistic position. The core components hidden in the depths of the solution, such as processors, are largely controlled by Intel and AMD.

Most Chinese companies, however, are simply repackaging the products and technologies of overseas giants, making so-called solutions, and often using the term "holistic solution" to show off.
