At present, wireless network coverage and home wireless network in developed areas are more mature, but the price of wireless networks in the underdeveloped areas is still high and the internet is slow, and some poor areas do not even have wireless networks. Recently, Mimosa NX, a Silicon Valley start-up, has received a new 20 million financing effort to provide faster and cheaper wireless networks around the world.
Mimosa NX is a company founded in 2012, the company's early founders have telecommunications and network-related work experience. The founders include PictureTel, Polycom, co-founder of the 2Wire three companies Brian Hinman and CTO Jamie Fink of 2Wire.
Mimosa NX, currently mainly using 5GHz WiFi network, through the development of a large number of Low-cost base stations and hotspots, can provide 10 times times faster than the existing WiFi provider network, and network capacity has increased 5 times times. It is expected that Mimosa NX will officially release the first generation of products in mid-June this year.
Mimosa NX is committed to the next generation of 10G Hz wireless network while developing 5GHZ WiFi network. This January, Mimosa NX announced a partnership with WiFi chip company Quantenna, which will provide the latest 10GHz wireless chips.
At present, Mimosa NX has accumulated about $38 million trillion in financing, early investors including NEA and Oak.
