Notes Widget

The notes Widget is a small, specialized application provided by notes that enables notes users to make easy and efficient use of other off-the-shelf resources, such as Web sites, Notes databases, Google gadgets, or feeds. Widgets can also be used to install enterprise applications from Eclipse Update Site.

Widget Catalog

Domino Server provides a toolbox.ntf template through which we can create a NSF file called the Widget Catalog. Widget Catalog can manage various Notes Widget applications. By connecting to the widget Catalog, users can choose which applications they want to install, receive application updates automatically, and publish their own widget applications for more users.

Domino Policy

Domino Server's policy mechanism provides the possibility of unified management of users. Policies allow administrators to define rules that can be automatically implemented and enforced across domino/notes environments, covering everything from mail to desktop applications to security. Simply put, the strategy addresses the control points of many of the functions of notes and Domino, which can be applied to different parts of the notes and Domino architecture by creating different types of policy documents to identify the set of collection of documents. Policies enable administrators to easily control the configuration, security, and installation of Notes clients

The principle of applying deployment with Widget Catalog and Domino Policy

Notes based enterprise applications are often in the form of Eclipse plugin, assuming that the IT administrator has developed a Notes application and provided a Feature/plugin update site package, then the user installs the update site package
