After the revised detailed view, the right-hand column will see a preview of the other content on the same content board. Below the page, you will see what else the user has forwarded.
Pinterest (http://pinterest.com/), the picture social networking site, released its new website design in Monday and said it would "soon" introduce the design to users through invitations. Pinterest has been testing the new design since January.
The most noticeable change in the new design is the detailed view of the picture. When users view a detailed view of a photo or screenshot of a Web page, a preview of the other content on the same content board will be seen in the right-hand column. These previews use a mosaic layout similar to the Pinterest home page and content boards, which maintain a consistent style throughout the site.
At the bottom of the Content Board preview, users will also see other content from the same site source. For example, when a user looks at a beautiful picture of a shoe, a picture of the other shoes from the same shop appears below the content Board preview. Similarly, when a user looks at a landscape picture, he or she will see other photos from the same photographer's website.
The bottom of the page changes the most. Pinterest places a whole column of content boards here that shows what other users who have forwarded this content also publish. Perhaps Pinterest's idea is that if a user likes a particular piece of content, he or she might like something else posted by the same user. Typically, a single piece of content is forwarded by more than one other user, so this new feature will help users view all of the relevant content uniformly.
Pinterest said it would "soon" upgrade Android and iOS apps to include the above features. At present, Pinterest is making all-round improvements to the service to provide a simple and refreshing experience. For example, Pinterest the size of the content box to make the picture slightly larger.
"We respond to some feedback from content publishers," Pinterest said in a blog. They said they did not want to lose their location during the browsing process. Now, as they browse through the various content and click on the links of interest, they can use the Back button to return to the starting position. ”
Industry insiders believe that these adjustments will promote user interaction with Pinterest services. This is not only due to a more enjoyable experience with the new design, but also because it makes it easier for users to discover new relevant content. As a result, users will be more likely to be interested in a particular product, service, or experience, giving Pinterest future commercialization opportunities.
Pinterest has just launched a new analytics service recently. Last month, the company completed a round of 200 million dollars in financing, the company's valuation of about 2.5 billion U.S. dollars.
