The study says the world needs 10 billion dollars a year for weather insurance funds

The agency says the establishment of weather insurance funds is a viable way to help developing countries, especially ecologically vulnerable countries, cope with weather disasters.　　The current negotiating text includes the use of the international insurance system to deal with weather disasters, but the sources of funding and insurance implementation details need to be further refined. The group says it is facing a "historic opportunity" to reach agreement on funding issues in Copenhagen. With the support of developed countries ' funds, a global weather disaster management system should be established to focus on helping ecologically vulnerable countries cope with weather disasters.
