Chen, two co-founder of YouTube, has worked with Chad Hurley for 15 years, from the initial PayPal to later YouTube to the nearest incubator AVOs Bae, who have been partners. Now the two are about to go their separate ways.
Chad Hurley will focus on transforming AVOs BAE into a single product-mobile video platform MixBit, while Chen will join Google entrepreneur as a resident entrepreneur (thrive in Venture).
MixBit is one of the more outstanding AVOs hatching projects, and it was originally a Hurley idea. Through MixBit, users can use mobile phone to shoot video clips, according to geographical location or character relationship splicing, editing video.
Chen has not disclosed much information about plans to join the Google Venture, and there are reports that the projects that will be involved may be relevant to the media.
For the two of the split, Chen said this is a very difficult decision, but AVOs transformation to do MixBit will be the right choice. Chen says MixBit is the project that Hurley has always wanted to do, and if he has too much development, other projects could hinder mixbit.
