Broadcast video testing, monitoring and analysis solution provider Tektronix announced the launch of Sentry Edge II, this is the Tektronix Sentry Video Quality Monitor series of the latest products. Sentry Edge II detects RF modulation and transmission stream errors caused by device errors or failures, and with Sentry Edge II, the video service provider (VSP) can now access the information needed to proactively monitor the RF before the problem has affected the user.
Sentry Edge II is a high-performance scalable solution that is designed to monitor POST-QAM in dynamic video environments and is essential for devices that require fast isolation and problem solving. Video service providers can use Sentry Edge II in hubs, front ends, or wherever QAM is used. Its all-round industry-leading high-quality RF measurement capabilities make it easier and quicker to point out the problem. For example, high quality MER measurements allow vendors to detect signal quality decay more quickly, so they can take action before the problem affects the user's viewing experience.
When designing a product, the vendor's business requirements are also considered. Sentry Edge II offers more tuners per device than competitor products, reducing edge monitoring costs. Vendors can choose from two high-density models (4 or 8 tuners), both devices are designed to minimize rack space and power costs, monitor RF signals up to 1 GHz, and allow suppliers to monitor additional services in the growth of their business. QAM A, B, and C support can meet the needs of suppliers around the world.
