Intel announced in Thursday that chief Operating officer Brian Krzanich would take the helm on May 16, replacing incumbent CEO Otellini, who will retire early this month in 38.
The 52-Year-old Krzanich has a long history at Intel and joined the company 31 years ago as a newly minted college graduate.
Intel, like to tap insiders to occupy the top spot, especially those with years of experience in the senior people. Still, how Krzanich will lead the company as an industry into a new computing era is still an unknown.
Insider Status: Plus or no?
The use of personal computers is falling fast, and Intel will need to adapt to gain superiority as a mobile device. Faced with this challenge, Krzanich's insider status may be a plus. )
