As cloud computing gradually hits the ground and data center virtualization becomes more widely used, the risk for users is increasing. So how do you reduce this risk? The answer, said Michael Lynge, a Bollen communications marketing manager, is that careful testing before applying is one of the first ways to reduce risk.

Lynge said that Bollen has communicated with many clients and found that the focus on data centers is focused on four areas: performance, scalability, availability, and security. However, compared to previous data centers, virtualized data centers have new features: not only focus on data throughput in terms of performance, but also focus on latency, and in terms of availability, whether the data will be affected as the virtual machine migrates; The need to focus on whether virtual firewalls guarantee data security after virtualization, and cloud computing also makes the data center much more scalable in terms of scalability.

For the challenges of virtualized data centers, Bollen Communications has launched a high-speed data center and cloud computing solutions to help users reduce risk. This test solution is currently being applied by customers.

At this May Interop conference, Extreme NX selected the Bollen testcenter hypermetrics 40/100g Ethernet test Solution to showcase the performance of its open fabric datacenter solution. The demo contains the tbps Ethernet switch Matrix, which is the first public test in the industry for a 40G port connection density exceeding 10TB speed. Extreme NX, vice president of product management Harpreet Chadha, said: "The ability to verify any two-point service and infrastructure in the cloud is critical, especially when businesses and cloud servicers want to extend and virtualize their networks." Si Bollen allows us to test and demonstrate the performance and capacity of the latest open Fabric Datacenter solution--blackdiamond X8 's 40G delivery of critical services. ”

In September this year, Alcatel-Lucent, Avaya, Huawei, Solana NX and Bollen Communications collaborated to complete the industry's first large-scale, multi-vendor interoperability test using IEEE 802.1aq Shortest Path Bridging (SPB) technology.

In addition to the test solution, Lynge said that Bollen's test methodology for virtualized data centers and cloud computing has also been used by independent test labs.
