Third quarter global server revenue increased 5.2% hp contrarian decline

Jeffrey Hewitt, vice president of Gartner Research, said he could not be sure that the reason for the decline in HP's server revenue was a reorganization of management, but that it could lead some customers to postpone purchases. He mentioned other factors that affect HP's server sales, especially the decline in sales of UNIX servers and Oracle's decision on Itanium.

HP's UNIX, RISC, and itanium® server revenues have fallen by 27%, while Oracle has fallen by 11.6% per cent, 18.5%,IBM.

Hewitt said HP's third-quarter server revenue decline was "temporary" and HP is expected to resolve the issue soon.
