Facebook, twitter, three of Myspace's social networking services meet the needs of most American netizens. Critics often say, "Myspace is dying, and Facebook is the future." "Well, let's take a look at the changes in user activity and traffic in these three sites and use the data to talk."
Compete
According to statistics seen on the Compete, Facebook's U.S. users grew by nearly 7 million in March, and now has a monthly unique user (UV) of 140 million. This is more data than Twitter and Myspace add up. The number of Twitter users grew by 4 million in March, while Myspace showed a downward trend for the month.
ComScore
The data from ComScore is divided into two parts: the United States and the world, and the statistics are the only identity user (UV), see the table below.
One interesting phenomenon: for March data, Facebook's American users account for only 22% of the world's users, compared with Twitter, which is 19%,myspace 57%. This means Twitter is the most "internationalized" Web service, and Myspace is most reliant on local users.
Quantcast
Finally, the Quantcast data, which shows an absolute value that is not consistent with the Compete data (especially Twitter users), but the overall trend has not changed. Facebook is flat, Twitter is rising faster, and Myspace is falling by month.
Myspace's UV is nearly halfway down the peak, and it's scary that it's only about half a year away from its peak.
