Linux for file extensions are not as stringent as Windows requirements, so in the process of using Linux will often encounter some files do not have an extension, where we should judge the file without extension, in the end is the file or directory? In fact, we can use file to check the type of files, examples are as follows:

[Root@localhost ~]# file Install.log
Install.log:utf-8 Unicode Text

Install.log as a text file

[Root@localhost ~]# file/usr/local/
/usr/local/: Directory

USR as directory
