According to a recent survey, the proportion of female workers in the UK's video game industry decreased from 12% in 2006 to 4% last year, the news showed September 9. The group responsible for the survey considered that the prevailing climate of prolonged work and the lack of childcare services had led to a sharp drop in female gaming practitioners. But the explanation has been questioned by the gaming industry, who point out that the most fundamental reason for the lack of female employees is that men are more qualified for game development, and that gaming companies are more willing to hire male employees when recruiting. The survey found that 43% of female gamers complained that they spent too much time at work, which negatively affected their happy lives. 32% of women in the survey worked 45 hours a week, 22% worked 46-55 hours a week, and 10% worked more than 56 hours a week. and fertility-related survey data show that 79% of female gamers do not have children, but the integrity of the reproductive age of 35-year-old workers accounted for 69%. The British sociological Organization, which conducted the survey, argues that the reason for the growing number of female employees is that the gaming industry has a significant long working culture. Female employees say the main reason for leaving is dissatisfaction with the gaming industry's working environment and administrative systems. The group advises gaming companies to adopt flexible schedules that will not only create a friendly working environment for the industry, but also retain women who are already and are considering giving birth. Improving the working environment, such as providing some day-care services for young children, can improve the work motivation and stability of both sexes. The report was challenged in the game industry by Nick, a game software engineer, who said that the reason the agency had pointed out was that many industries, such as health care, were also working long hours and had no good reproductive services, but there were still a large number of female employees. Many practitioners agree with Nick. Industry insiders also point out that the root cause of the scarcity of women in the game industry is that manufacturers are unwilling to hire women, and that the work on game development is indeed more appropriate for men. The domestic game industry personage says, the domestic research and development company and the team also presents the same situation, but in the operation type Company and the team, the female staff proportion is higher, even has more than 50% situation.
