Toshiba, Sony and Hitachi announce merger of Small and medium-sized LCD panel business

Three companies will set up new companies to complete business consolidation in the spring of 2012.　　The new company accounts for more than 20% of global market share, becoming the industry leader. The Japanese semi-official Investment Fund Industrial Innovation Agency will bear about 70% of the new company's capital, Toshiba, Sony and Hitachi each contributed about 10%.　　The new company will lay a solid foundation for the development and production of Next generation OLED (also known as organic EL) panels. Japanese companies have long led the development and production of LCD panels, but in the TV with large LCD panel market in South Korea and Taiwan Enterprises of Low-cost offensive, market share to about 10%.
