Trade in the mainland and Hong Kong fell by 18% in January-November this year

Xinhua Beijing, December 21, according to the Ministry of Commerce statistics, January-November this year, the mainland and Hong Kong trade volume of 154.15 billion U.S. dollars, the year-on-year decline of 18%.　　Among them, the mainland's exports to Hong Kong were $146.41 billion, down 16.7% per cent, and 7.74 billion US dollars from Hong Kong, down 35.9% per cent year-on-year.　　Previous statistics showed that the trade volume of the mainland and Hong Kong in January-October this year was 136.66 billion U.S. dollars, down 20.7% year-on-year.　　In January-November this year, the mainland approved a total of 9,378 investment projects for Hong Kong businessmen, a year-on-year decrease of 19.5%, and the actual use of HK $38.56 billion, up 0.6%. As at the end of November this year, the mainland has approved a total of 307,998 Hong Kong-funded projects and actually used HK $388.13 billion.　　According to the actual use of foreign capital statistics, Hong Kong's investment in the mainland accounted for 41.6% of the cumulative absorption of overseas investments. In addition, in January-November this year, the number of contract contracts, labor cooperation and design consultation in the mainland in Hong Kong amounted to 1286, with a contract amount of USD 2.52 billion, a turnover of $1.61 billion, and 19321 workers in Hong Kong at the end of the month. By the end of November 2009, the mainland had completed a total turnover of HK $37.33 billion.
