Twitter executives later explained that two backup data centers were having problems at the same time.
At 8:20 local time, the Twitter site was paralyzed until 10:25 and back to normal. Some users wonder if this is related to the London Olympics, which will be opened in Friday.
Mazen Rawashdeh, Twitter's vice-president for engineering technology, later explained that Twitter had two data centers Lavade, both of which were backed up by each other. Lavade said this was a "coincidence event", with Twitter planning to invest heavily in infrastructure to avoid a recurrence of similar failures.
Previously, Twitter apologized to the user for this failure.
This is the second major downtime for Twitter within two months. On June 21, Twitter was also shut down for two hours, and Twitter explained that it was a background software error. (暻 Jin)
