Twitter is trying to ease the pain that new users face in creating accounts, and wants to convince users to sign up for Twitter and stick with Twitter. For this reason, Twitter has been doing the first redesign of the registration process in nearly three years. In fact, as early as this February, Twitter began to hint that the registration process would be redesigned. Dick Costolo, Twitter's chief executive, Dick Costello the company is trying to improve the experience of new users on its quarterly earnings call. Twitter has been trying to find ways to boost the number of users, especially after signs that the number of users on the site has stalled. During the quarter ending June this year, Twitter's monthly active subscriber population was 271 million, up 6.3% per cent, better than the industry's expectations. In Friday, Twitter redesigned the layout of the registration process to address some of the complaints from new users. The new users complained that Twitter registration was too difficult for some new users to understand the program. A lot of the confusion of new users in terms of registration is first of all to identify the length of time they need to find their most relevant accounts. Previously, when new users were registered, Twitter would advise users to focus on a variety of new accounts, such as music, journalism, technology and sports. Now, Twitter first asks users to confirm their interest. The Twitter options list includes photos, fashion, entertainment, news, and popular accounts. Based on these options, Twitter offers the appropriate advice. For example, a user who chooses a fun option may see a recent announcement from an actor and comedian Aziz Ansari (Aziz Ansari), while a user who chooses the fashion option may see the account number of the designer Mark Jakobs (Marc Jacobs). Of course, the redesign of the registration process is very ingenious in terms of change. Previously, new users could only see the suggested account display photos, however, new users would now be able to see a sample of these accounts before deciding to focus on the proposed account. In addition to allowing users to choose which accounts to focus on, Twitter also recommends more than 10 accounts, but users can decide which accounts to choose or not to select. Overall, Twitter's redesigned registration process is clearer and allows users to see their sample information before they focus on the proposed account. At the same time, Twitter does not seem to offer advice if Twitter's proposed account is not relevant or helpful to users. However, once the registration is successful, Twitter frequently advises users on which accounts to focus on, based on the user's previous account, Twitter information and search history.
