Ubuntu Font Basics

A font is a warehouse in which the computer invokes a glyph.

sans-serif= No liner BODY = bold: Not a specific font, but a type of font, select it is actually equal to the choice of this type of font in the highest priority of the font.

serif= Lining Line BODY = white: ditto

monospace= equal-width font, which means the same length of character: ditto

Dot Matrix font = bitmap font

No lining body is more suitable for computer screen reading, lining is suitable for printing. --Because the lining line can make people Zieux line of sight. That means not lip the line.

There are different ways to show in Chinese, on the one hand, the horizontal and the same height as the Chinese itself can cause this kind of alignment. Line spacing is more important to Chinese.

Configuration file path

/etc/fonts/fonts.conf #系统配置文件, requires root permission to operate, valid for programs that need to enter the root password

~/.fonts.conf #用户配置文件, whatever it is, it works only for programs run by the current user

Command

FC-CACHE-FV #通常复制字体进 ~/.fonts will automatically refresh the font, if not, with this command, if copied into the/usr/share/fonts/, with sudo fc-cache-fv

Fc-match serif #抓取当前用户sans-serif class font with the highest priority

Fc-match Serif #抓取当前用户serif类字体优先级最高的那款字体

Fc-match monospace #抓取当前用户monospace类字体优先级最高的那款字体
