/etc/samba/smb.conf is the main configuration file you need to modify, which is divided into five parts as shown in the table

You can modify the configuration file manually or use the Web interface of the SWAT software.

SWAT is the Samba web-based configuration management tool that allows you to configure without having to memorize all the file formats. Each SWAT screen is actually a table that covers a separate section of the smb.conf file. For ease of use, each parameter table has a corresponding online help. The following figure shows the SWAT main landing interface.
