UK asks retailers to recycle old batteries

The EU hopes to achieve the end-year rate of 10% of the battery recovery target, and strive to bring the battery recovery by 2012 to 25%, 2016 reached 45%.　　Regulations say that battery manufacturers should shoulder the primary responsibility for achieving recovery goals. According to statistics, the EU countries sold 800,000 tons of car batteries, 190,000 tons of industrial batteries and 16,000 tons of household batteries each year, most of which were thrown away with the trash after completing the "mission".　　These batteries release toxic chemicals, pollute the soil and water, and seriously affect the environment.
