United Nations Day Concert "Lang and Friends" kicked off

People's Daily United Nations October 24 (reporter Li Bing-wen, bin) today is United Nations Day, accompanied by a cheerful "Light Horse March", the United Nations Day Concert "Lang and Friends" kicked off. The symphony orchestra, composed of nearly 40 young students from five continents, has served as a musical feast of peace for the world's people in the newly completed General Assembly Chamber.

In his speech, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said there were times of despair and conflict in some parts of the world, and this evening's concert brought hope to the world. The outbreak of Ebola disease once again proves that the fate of the people of the Earth is connected. We live in a "getting smaller" world where global challenges require a global response and a global response from the United Nations. Over the past 70 years, where there have been wars in the world, where there is the United Nations flag, when I visited these areas, the locals told me that seeing the flag of the United Nations saw hope.

Lang said in an interview with reporters that tonight's concert is for peace, but also for the five continents of poor children to build school fund-raising activities. He thanked young artists from all over the world for participating in this very meaningful event, in the hope that more people in the world would participate, for children, for peace and for the future of mankind.
