According to a tort lawsuit filed by Nokia in May this year, the US International Trade Commission ("ITC") decided in Thursday to launch an investigation into HTC, the handset maker.

In its lawsuit, Nokia said HTC violated the company's six patents and asked ITC to ban the sale of HTC handsets infringing its patents, including Droid DNA, HTC Evo 4G LTE and HTC One. The ITC survey will involve Nokia patents, including video processing, smartphone interior design, and radio reception technology.

HTC declined to comment on the case.

So far, Nokia has accused HTC of violating its 50 patents. The Finnish handset maker sued HTC in the United States and Germany as early as last May, and both courts have accepted the case. About one months ago, Nokia filed new charges against HTC in the US Federal district Court, saying a variety of HTC handsets, including HTC One, violated Nokia's three technology patents.

"HTC has not shown the will to end the infringement, but is trying to pass it on to the suppliers," Nokia said in a statement in May this year. So we decided to take further action to make sure HTC was responsible for its actions. ”

Prior to Nokia, Apple had filed a lawsuit against HTC in the United States and won the Committee's support, with HTC handsets being banned in the US market. As a result of the ruling, HTC's new handsets were required to undergo U.S. Customs scrutiny last year when they entered the US market, leading to a delay in the U.S. listing of HTC handsets.
