Recently, the US market research organization NPD Group, through the 2010 player Classification report, announced that the average game time for American players is 13 hours per week. The report was done by investigating 18,872 players over the age of 2 in the United States. According to the report, American players play an average of 13 hours a week, meaning that the average play time is no more than two hours per day. However, the average game time of the 4%-per-year total was 48.5 hours, equivalent to playing nearly 7 hours a day. The average age of the players surveyed was 32 years, and the average age of computer gamers was 42 years.
