A survey by Microsoft of 280 large and medium-sized IT companies in the United States showed that nearly three-fourths of the respondents said they would launch big data projects in the next 12 months. The survey found that 72% of the respondents were planning to lay out large data businesses, 51% of which said they had entered the deployment phase of a large data business.
62% of companies surveyed said it was necessary to develop real-time predictive analytics for large data over the next two years. In addition, 58% of companies surveyed said it was important to expand the data storage infrastructure. The survey found that 62% of the respondents said they would store at least 100TB of available data, while about 32% per cent of the respondents expected the figure to double in the next two years.
The companies surveyed listed customer service, sales, finance and marketing as requiring large data Analysis Services. About 41% per cent of the respondents considered that the most needed data technology to provide information to the business is customer service, and about 26% of the respondents considered sales. At the same time, 23% of respondents said that finance and marketing would be key businesses for large data information services.
