Readers who "can't sleep" left comments in the Google Data Center post. Zac Explain, I in your post reply inside see say in your blog reply post signature link can calculate external link, just looked carefully, your code a xhref ' http:// Www.itqy.net ' rel ' external nofollow ' this way, simply can not calculate the external link, this is not too kind to do it! Hope Zac come out to explain! ”
To explain this problem is not a two-sentence can be said, and talk about nofollow tag properties may be helpful to a lot of webmaster, so write a separate post to answer. Nofollow is a Google-led new label to minimize the impact of junk links on search engines.
Matt Cutts said the meaning of this label is to tell the search engine that the link is not edited by the author, so this link is not a trust ticket. The search engine sees this tag and may reduce or completely cancel the voting weight of the link. This tag is usually used in blog comments or forum posts because these are the places where the most junk links appear. Now mainstream blogs and forum software automatically add this tag to the comments and posts link. "Can't sleep" don't think this label is my own add, or I use the blog system (WordPress) is my own development it?
Another effect is that if you sell ads on the website, you can use this tag. Because the original intention of buying and selling web ads should be traffic, not PR value or try to influence search engine rankings. Adding this tag does not affect traffic at all, but it may reduce the impact on search engine rankings.
So does adding this tag really affect the link vote weight and PR value? This is questionable. If I remember well, GOOGLE,YAHOO,MSN supports the label. But do they really drop the voting weights of these links to zero? Not sure.
Other search engines do not necessarily support this label, such as Baidu. As for my observation, Baidu is likely not to consider this label, because the spam link in Baidu still very useful. Does the link with this label not count as an external link? Of course I can't say that. Such links are also external links.
I think the subtext of "Can't sleep" is that the search engine thinks the weight of the external link (we assume that some search engines will be the weight of these links down to 0), in fact this kind of thinking and subconscious has made a big taboo search engine optimization. I have said many times in other posts, starting with the user rather than the search engine. To the user, click on the link you came to another site, did not use the script to do the steering, just an HTML link, this is not an external link is what?
If you really think that search engines will drop the voting weights of these links to zero, imagine if a site's export links use the nofollow tag, which is natural? You introduce websites to your readers, but tell search engines that you don't recommend them? Not suspicious? Is it someone else's website or is it a website that uses this label?
Also said before, fear of linking to other sites is a lot of webmaster error, actually linked to other related sites in many times will help your own site rankings.
But the links in blog comments and forum posts are different, and these links are added by users and readers themselves, not by site owners or authors. In many cases, the author will not go to see what sites these links go to. So the quality of these sites is of course not known, and should not endorse.
Finally go back to the previous comments, add the label is not really and thick is not really a relationship. I have never said that links from my site are important to link out the comments, and then collect the money to get everyone to add a link, or ask the reader to link back. On the contrary I have said many times, the blog comments in the link, although the external link (or Help included), but for search engine rankings and PR value is not useful (and not just because of the use of nofollow).
readers are welcome to leave comments if they feel that they are welcome to leave a signature link. But if you want to leave a link and leave a comment, you don't have to.
