Beijing time August 3 afternoon news, according to foreign media reported today, Viacom has its gaming chat and exploration services Xfire sold to Titan Gaming. Neither party disclosed the terms of the deal, but Titan Gaming said the Xfire name would continue to be followed and the corresponding services would not be interrupted. Xfire General manager Chris Comus (Chris Kirmse), in Monday, left a message on the home page of Xfire's official website, "team Departure", which read: "Most of the team members who have brought leaving over the past 6 years will be leaving, including me." "He did not disclose the buyer's information nor issued any official statement. Xfire and Viacom have yet to comment. But Titan Gaming said in a statement in Monday that the company had acquired Xfire and said it would "use the Xfire platform to help gaming companies better interact with users". Titan Gaming's main business is to earn revenue with gaming dollars, video ads and gaming bets. Viacom bought Xfire in 2006 for $102 million. Since then, the total number of registered users of the site has exceeded 16.7 million, releasing a total of 127 software versions. In early 2005, Yahoo sued Xfire, accusing the company of violating its patent for instant-messaging technology. The two sides reached a settlement at the end of 2005. Shortly after Xfire was bought by Viacom, the company's co-founder Dennis Feng (Dennis Fong) and Mack Cassidy (Mike Cassidy) separated. Dennis Feng created a social gaming network with similar features, and Cassidy joined the venture capital firm Benchmark Raptr and eventually joined the online travel guide website Ruba, which was acquired by Google earlier this year.
