The popularity of virtualization technology, cloud computing and other emerging technologies has also attracted the attention of hackers. According to security manufacturer AppRiver, Cloud Computing in 2009 will be a wave of hacker attacks. Companies, in particular, may have to face such risks because they need these emerging technologies to help them cut costs during the recession, AppRiver senior security analyst Fred Touchette said. Although overall IT spending this year is not optimistic, these emerging technologies will still show strong growth momentum, which also means that a large number of hackers will be bred. "The risks posed by virtualization technology will become a serious problem because more and more businesses are migrating to virtual environments," says Touchette. Now I have found that some viruses can break through the intrusion protection into the virtual machine. "In recent months, a number of large enterprise data loss events have begun to pay attention to the rapid growth of virtual crime." At the same time, malware makers are working on more aggressive means of protection. Touchette says that some viruses are now able to be monitored when they invade virtual environments, but these viruses cannot be traced because they both refuse to run and cannot be completely removed. This is because research analysts use virtual machines when they analyze viruses--malware makers have discovered this. Similarly, as more and more enterprises begin migrating to the cloud, they will encounter more security vulnerabilities, which is a new problem for them. The same problem will occur on smartphones, which are increasingly rich in products, because smartphones enable developers to create new apps that users can download into their devices. Touchette said the devices could become an important target for hackers because of the popularity of the iphone and the ease of configuration on the Android platform. Site attacks increased corporate databases have been the main targets of hackers attempting to gain personal information from users, while job-seekers and social-networking sites are becoming potential targets. This is not surprising, as the sites hold a large number of members ' information data, and this trend will intensify in 2009. Now hackers have started to attack Facebood and LinkedIn to get personal information. Touchette expects hackers to look for more targets this year.
