VMware in Beijing released the fourth issue of the 2013 VMware Cloud Maturity Index

October 30--VMware Inc. released its fourth issue of the 2013 VMware Cloud Maturity Index in Beijing this morning. Song, president of VMware Greater China, said it had already completed its initial transition phase, which would be more broadly applied to network virtualization and software definition storage, and that virtualization would save more than 30 billion of billions of dollars for Chinese customers over the next eight years, that is, more than 3.7 billion dollars a year.

Song uses a series of data to illustrate the importance of virtualization, which has saved more than $7 billion trillion for Chinese customers over the past 20 years, and over the past 10 years the direct wealth effect of virtualization has exceeded 40 billion yuan.

Song believes that IT services have undergone many changes, early, enterprise customers are more inclined to IBM mainframe infrastructure construction, with the advent of the client server era, minicomputer began to board the stage, IBM, HP and Oracle can provide related equipment.

The internet age has put forward the new request to Enterprise's IT service, the virtualization begins to be recognized by more and more customers. Initially, the customer understanding of virtualization is that the new technology can save a lot of physical resources, or even avoid some additional physical resources procurement, can save personnel, energy consumption, the cost of the site.

And as virtualization applications are deployed in large numbers, administrators can manage more and more projects. Data show that the introduction of virtualization in the past 20 years, to help Chinese customers save more than 7 billion U.S. dollars. In the next eight years, such savings can reach more than 30 billion. 2003 to 2013, in the past period of time, it brings the direct wealth effect of more than 40 billion yuan.

Song believes that with the advent of the mobile cloud, companies have recognized the importance of virtualization and hope to complete the enterprise's change plan through virtualization. According to data from the 2013 VMware Cloud Maturity Index, 73% of Chinese respondents now see it as a driving force for change and business value, and 77% of Chinese respondents think cloud computing is the most important.
