Vodafone plans to sell French telecoms company SFR108 billion dollar stake

Beijing Time September 12 Evening news, according to foreign media reports, BT giant Vodafone is planning to sell its French telecoms company SFR billions of pounds of shares, which is Vodafone focused on the core market strategy.  The Sunday Times quoted Vodafone insiders as saying the chief executive, Colao Vittorio Colao, had decided to sell a 7 billion-pound (10.8 billion-dollar) stake in the French company.  Vodafone has a 44% per cent stake in SFR, but declined to comment on the sale, a Vodafone spokeswoman told The Associated Press. Vodafone this week dumped its 4.3 billion-pound stake in China Mobile, the first step in the company's move to sell equity to focus on the core market.  Vodafone hopes to raise its share price. However, the Sunday Times said Colao had reservations about selling the company's stake in the US market in the short term. In the US, Vodafone holds a minority stake of Verizon's wireless value of $35 billion. (Kevin)
