Freedocs is a concept proposed by Peng to establish a simple and free document sharing and copyright protection mechanism.

Freedocs's idea comes from freeware and open source software: Since a lot of software can be legally shared, since a lot of source code can be legally adapted, why can't the document? If a large number of documents can be legitimately referenced, reproduced and even adapted, it can greatly facilitate the people who do the work of the text, while improving the influence of the author of the document.

There are two main meanings of free: (1) complimentary-use without charge, (2) free-use without prior greeting. Freedocs refers to Doc (document, documents/articles/monographs, etc.) that conform to these two meanings.
