BusinessInsider's Market research agency, BI FDI, published a study summarizing user statistics for more than 10 social networks, perhaps to see trends in the composition of social media users.

3. Instagram is said to have overtaken Facebook and Twitter as the preferred social network for young users. According to a survey by Jaffray Piper Jaffray, teens in the United States think Instagram is the most important, and Facebook and Twitter have lost that position. The survey also found that 83% of the teens in America's affluent families are already Instagram users.

4. LinkedIn is more popular among American adult users than Twitter. The core users of LinkedIn are users between the ages of 30 and 49 who are in the midst of an upswing in their careers.

5. Twitter has begun to work to attract the attention of male users, who previously did not have any bias in the sex of their users. The Pew survey of the US market research organization found that about 22% of men were already using Twitter, while only 15% of female users used the social network.

6. For users aged 18 to 34, YouTube is more attractive than any cable network.
