A famous technical expert once said: "For cloud computing, everyone has their own definition." But there is a certain consensus on many aspects of cloud computing, such as the three-tier architecture (Saas,paas and IaaS). In addition to the three-tier architecture, it is thought that cloud computing can be divided into three types: public, private, and mixed.
Public Cloud: The public cloud is the building of a pool of cloud resources on the Internet, all users have the right to use the user can be on demand;
Private cloud: Companies or other organizations are built separately in their own data centers, or by http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/13793.html "> Cloud service providers like business online," through user needs Leased to the user as a whole. Not available to users other than the owner;
Mixed cloud: Refers to the combination of public and private clouds, mostly refers to the private cloud after the establishment, because of business development and other reasons, the demand for resources over the resource pool, so the need to use the public cloud as a private cloud to complement.
It is undeniable that virtually every company is migrating in the cloud, at least considering migrating to the cloud. With too many options available, many companies are still experimenting with which option is best for you.
The decision to create a private cloud, use a public cloud or choose a hybrid cloud can be summed up in several factors, says Rickwright, KPMG's head of global cloud innovation.
He said the company must consider the importance of preparing applications for cloud migration, management issues, the level of service required, the use of workloads, and how integrated applications can be combined with other functions of the company.
Pharmaceutical companies should choose the internal private cloud, because restricting the industry has some vital needs and is subject to strict rules. Although in a private cloud, these companies are installing their own server and storage hardware, they can detect or deploy new applications to flexibly allocate workloads between servers through usage.
On the other hand, he says, there are companies that need to quickly provide services to the market and have few regulatory hurdles, and that the data used is not necessarily tied to other businesses. These businesses are turning to public cloud solutions, such as Amazon Web Services. After signing the contract, users can immediately use computing, storage, and other services through the online portal.
Cloud security remains a thorny issue for the executive, but the issue has fallen markedly in importance, Wright said. This suggests that for many companies, security issues are no longer the focus of their consideration of public cloud services.
In companies that are or are preparing to deploy a public cloud, half of it executives think security is one of the most important challenges, according to KPMG, and only 42% of business executives hold that view. The proportion of people worried about cloud security has fallen sharply compared with last year
KPMG recently surveyed 800 senior executives worldwide, and found that 41% said they were using or planning to use some type of private cloud, and 30% said they were or were preparing to use the public cloud.
Ultimately, most sectors, including those with strict regulations and largely unregulated sectors, may have a shift to a hybrid cloud.
"What we're seeing now is that most companies will be using a hybrid model," Wright said. ”
The hybrid cloud consists of public and private cloud services. For example, a business unit might run applications primarily on a private cloud, but rely on public cloud services to measure usage.
No matter what cloud the business unit decides to use, one thing is clear: they will migrate to the cloud. In the KPMG survey, 81% of respondents said their companies were evaluating cloud services, planning cloud implementations or implementing cloud policies, including public and private clouds. Only less than 10% of respondents said they did not intend to use the cloud immediately.
