When I was in primary school, my teacher told me that light could not pass through opaque media; I guess when my family's kids are reading, the teacher won't cheat him.

Recently, scientists at Hollantwint University have discovered a way to see through opaque media. The principle is to record the wavelength of visible light passing through solid media, including paint or skin. Scientists are now studying how to collect light scattered through opaque media and then create a picture on the other side.

In 2007, scientists Allard Mosk and Ivo Vellekoop tried to irradiate a glass of white paint with a beam of visible light and focus it on the other side of the glass. The experiment succeeded, and none of the scientists thought of it!

Then Mosk and his team used "space light modulator" to control different parts of the beam through the painted glass, and then at the other end of the glass, through a "detector" to collect the light through the glass, and computer to display the "detector" collected by the wavelength. After that, the researchers made new advances in optical focus, and they shone light on some thin solid material, such as the mouse's ears, and succeeded! However, it was soon discovered that the technology still had many difficulties in biology, such as light through the muscle tissue of the organism.

Generally speaking, because the wavelength can interact with the organic molecules, the visible image has a higher resolution than the X-ray image produced. But in fact, when the visible light penetrates the organic molecule, the visible light interacts with the organic molecule, and its photons are easily scattered or absorbed, which alters the resulting image, reduces use value, and is not even usable.

Astronomers have previously used adaptive optics to solve light scattering problems. In general, the image of a planet that astronomers see is blurred by the atmosphere, which eliminates the distortion of the atmosphere by using a special "deformable" mirror. However, the main component of the body is organic molecules, not bright stars, so adaptive optics is difficult to apply to biology, especially internal medicine. Therefore, this technique is of great significance to medical imaging. In addition, the technology can also be used for military or artistic recovery, such as helping people see what is underneath the paint.

The above is not very cool, but if the application in the field of practical applications, visible light perspective imaging still a long way to go.

So far, many scientists have tried different types of optical imaging methods. Last year, physicists at the Castelles Brossel Laboratory in Paris, Sylvain Gigan, managed to use SLR imaging to reconstruct a hidden image. Lihong Wang, a biomedical engineer at the University of Washington, successfully reconstructed the images in 5.6 milliseconds, knowing that Mosk initially designed the experiment in hours.

Of course, the teacher has not lied to us, but we have found the way through the opaque medium to see the light.
