Why does Microsoft have to be a pioneering mentor in China? Everything is for Microsoft cloud

This afternoon, Microsoft Azure Cloud Accelerator (referred to as Mawa--microsoft accelerator of Windows Azure) hosted the first participant's demo day at the Asia-Pacific Institute in Zhongguancun, Beijing, and unveiled the second-stage entrepreneurial team. In contrast to the two-issue list, there is a clear phenomenon: unlike the first phase, which focuses on the consumer Internet, many of the two companies begin to focus more on specific industries (such as energy, agriculture, etc.) and bring new solutions to traditional industries.

I have seen several companies today that I personally prefer, such as the analysis of rock formations and cores through cloud computing, to help oil companies calculate the number of rock technology in the drilling position. Such businesses, like Tim O ' Reilly, are not just "trying to get a few ads for the user", but building their business in a virtual network economy, and using cloud computing to influence and subvert entrenched traditional industry processes.

While Microsoft does not require companies participating in Mawa to use azure services or to develop products for the Microsoft application platform, it has become a "logical" choice for many companies and helps companies build "Microsoft" ecosystems. For example, all companies that use azure services can get help from Microsoft technicians directly on the software. And for the booming Windows Phone development product is also a lot of the company's core planning, which makes them more "root Miao red."

After all, perhaps the developer who chooses the WP platform at this moment is facing a historical opportunity. The successful release of Windows Phone8,windows 8 (Windows 8 has sold 40 million copies, becoming the most successful in history) has enabled Microsoft to rebound rapidly in the application market from a few years ago in "nap" (Zhang). Today's developers are struggling with their already-saturated iOS and Android markets, and it seems as if it's better to dive into windows and grow with a fast-growing platform.

"In addition to the 6-month accelerated project at the Microsoft Asia-Pacific Institute in Beijing, the company has implemented a fully synchronized strategy in the United States, Israel and India," Zhang told Pingwest in an interview. America's Accelerator program is run by the famous incubator Techstar (and Y Combinator as the best incubator company in the United States). It is distributed both at Seattle headquarters and in Silicon Valley. Israel was chosen because its per capita innovation was the highest in all the world's countries, while India's Bangalore was hailed as India's "Silicon Valley" and the site of countless engineering centers for European and American technology companies. This kind of regional cluster phenomenon is not only from the company's own strategy, but also objectively promote the development of start-up companies in the accelerator. Many members of the Mawa have been involved in international markets before joining, such as the dojo in the Japanese market. In addition, entrepreneurs in so many countries are naturally connected, and a close global "alumni" entrepreneurial network is formed with Ms BizSpark to serve their future overseas business expansion.

It is natural to daydream that the Cloud Accelerator project is running at an interesting coincidence with Windows Azure's entry timetable. However, Zhang said that two projects in the preparation phase is not unified planning, but now they do objectively play a mutually reinforcing effect. Because each enterprise in the Cloud Accelerator will get a free 60,000-dollar Windows Azure Service, it is equivalent to a full test by the company before Azure falls on the ground next year.

It is understood that companies in accelerators have reduced costs by nearly 70% due to the use of these services. Saying that Microsoft gives people so many things, and not shares, this good thing is naturally not done in vain. This series of actions has made all companies participating in Mawa, along with many other entrepreneurs, looking forward to the landing of Windows Azure next year.
