This error may occur if the component-based services (CBS) manifest contains corrupted files. To resolve this issue, you will need to perform a repair installation.
Performing a repair installation restores the current Windows installation to the version of the installation DVD. This operation also requires that all updates not included in the installation DVD be installed.
Note: Performing a repair installation does not damage files and programs that are currently installed on your computer.
To perform a repair installation on Windows 7, follow these steps:
1. Close all programs, and then restart the computer.
2. Insert a Windows 7 DVD into your computer's DVD drive.
3. In the Installer window, click Install Now.
Note: If Windows does not automatically detect DVDs, follow these steps:
A. Click Start to collapse this image to expand the image button, and then type Drive:\setup.exe in the search box.
Note: The Drive placeholder refers to the drive letter of the computer's DVD drive.
B. In the Programs list, click Setup.exe.
C. In the Installer window, click Install Now.
D. Click "Get the latest updates for the installation online (recommended)".
E. Click "Yes" to "accept http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/11208.html" >microsoft software License Terms.
F. In "What kind of installation do you need?" screen, click Upgrade.
After the installation is complete, restart your computer, and then try to install the update.
