Intel Corporation is the world's largest semiconductor chip manufacturer, founded in 1968, with 41 years of product innovation and market leadership history. 1971, Intel launched the world's first microprocessor. The move not only changed the company's future but also had a profound impact on the industry as a whole. The computer and Internet revolution brought about by microprocessors changed the world.

Joakin Riarias Joakim Lialias, director of the Foreign Relations Department of Intel (US chip giant), wrote on the Microsoft Official blog site in late Wednesday that Intel is working closely with Microsoft to make Microsoft Windows The 7 operating system will be able to take advantage of Intel's multi-core and multi-threaded technology to make Windows 7 faster overall when it runs on Intel multi-core processor-based PCs in the future.

Riarias said that with a technology called "SMT Presence", Windows 7 would have a significantly higher overall operating speed when running on a PC based on an Intel multi-core processor. In particular, when users perform video editing, image processing and other activities, Windows 7 will assign the same task to different cores for processing.

Riarias said that through Intel's technical cooperation with Microsoft, Windows 7 would quickly find idle processor resources for related applications and handle the same application's processing tasks to different cores and threads in the future when multitasking was done by the 7 users.

"All in all, the more cores the processors are using in a user's PC, the faster the Windows 7 will work on a large task," said George Alves George Alfs, a spokesman for Intel. ”

Alves also said that Intel is working with Microsoft to make Windows 7 boot and shutdown times shorter. He said that by improving the hardware driver and BIOS (basic input and output system), it can shorten the PC's power-on and shutdown time. He also revealed that Microsoft had designed the unique performance of the Intel multi-core processor during the Windows 7 development process.

Industry insiders point out that it is not surprising that Intel and Microsoft are working together to improve the speed at which Windows 7 runs. In fact, since the 80 's, Microsoft and Intel have formed the so-called Wintel Alliance, the two companies working closely within the PC industry to drive the Microsoft Windows operating system to run on Intel-CPU PCs, to promote the development of the PC industry. Since then, some of the technical specifications developed by the Wintel Alliance have become the de facto standard for the global PC industry.

"We have had more than 20 years of partnership with Microsoft," said Riarias, Intel. The common goal of Microsoft and Intel is to deliver the best performance experience for high-performance PC users. Riarias also said that Microsoft has taken full account of the latest technological developments in the hardware industry in the process of developing Windows 7.

Microsoft has yet to comment on Riarias's claim.

Jim McGregor, isuppli analyst at the US market research firm, Jim Macgellegger that with the development of computer hardware technology in recent years, Windows 7 is generally more intelligent in allocating hardware resources than in previous versions of Windows. When Windows 7 is better able to support multi-core processors, external application developers will also optimize their products to enable them to support multi-core processors well.

Industry insiders point out that, in addition to Windows 7, Apple's upcoming Mac OS X 10.6 operating system will also better support multi-core processors to improve the operating system's overall speed.
