"The results of the Windows 7 upgrade could be a powerful revenue driver, benefiting global software and hardware vendors," the analyst wrote in their report.
In a new report, Deutsche Bank analysts expect that the announcement of Windows 7 on October 22 this year "could trigger a new round of significant investment in the technology value chain". The previous version of the operating system released the same demand rise, including popular Windows XP and the widespread disappointment of Windows Vista, and a new round of investment is likely to be quicker than it was before.
Microsoft releases Windows 7 o'clock at the end of this year, and a new generation of operating systems is likely to set off a wide range of technology sales, and big corporate customers will no longer curb their demand, analysts said recently.
A recent survey by Deutsche Bank showed that 34% of the Enterprise Chief Information Officer (CIO) said it planned to upgrade to Windows 7. Deutsche Bank says 75% of CIOs planning to upgrade say they also plan to update their hardware systems. The survey targets 120 "big company-led" corporate technology purchasers, who are key decision-makers in the company's technology purchases.
"This potentially suggests that the penetration rate of Windows 7 may exceed the level that Vista reached in 12-18 months and begin to match the level of XP and Windows 20,002 years," the report said. ”
Operating system upgrades will also benefit many other high-tech food-chain businesses. PC and component manufacturers are likely to see a rise in demand. The Deutsche Bank report shows that the average life expectancy of PCs has been extended from 5.5 years in 2005 to 6.1 years in 2008.
The stock broker's technical analysis team has 23 stocks that are likely to benefit from any upgrade cycle. These include PC maker Dell, HP and Acer, chip manufacturers Intel, AMD and Nvidia (NVIDIA), as well as disk drive manufacturer Seagate (Seagate) and Western data (Western Digital).
On the software side, rising demand is also likely to benefit Adobe Bae and security software manufacturers McAfee and Symantec.
