Windows XP is a product based on Windows2000 code and has a new user graphical interface (called the Moon god Luna) that includes minor modifications, some of which appear to be from the Linux desktop Environment (desktopenvironmen) Inspiration for things like KDE. A login interface with user graphics is an example. In addition, Windows XP introduces a "People based" user interface that allows the toolbar to access specific details of the task.

Windows Vista is a version of Microsoft's Windows operating system. Microsoft initially officially announced the name on July 22, 2005, before operating system development code Longhorn. The internal version of Windows Vista is 6.0 (that is, Windows NT 6.0) and the official build is 6.0.6000. On November 8, 2006, Windows Vista was developed and officially entered mass production. The next two months are available only to MSDN users, computer hardware and software manufacturers, and corporate customers. On January 30, 2007, Windows Vista was officially sold to ordinary users and could also be downloaded from Microsoft's website. Windows Vista has been in the previous version of Windows XP for more than five years, which is the oldest time in Windows version history.

Whether you first install Windows XP Professional or install Windows Vista First, it does not matter, the most important is the next operation, and now I will introduce my personal installation of dual-system method. For example, install Windows Vista into the C disk and install Windows XP Professional into D disk.

New Installation Dual System

This is related to starting a dual system issue and will be modifying Vista boot Manager to add win XP bootstrap information to the BCD file. So I suggest you use Vistaboot Pro. Vistaboot Pro provides a graphical interface for the user to modify settings at a glance, which is not difficult for ordinary users.

Vistaboot Pro Installation Instructions:

①wndows XP systems must have the Microsoft. NET Framework 2.0 installed to install the software.

②windows Vista system installation, you must right-click the program or its shortcut, select "Run with Administrator account" or turn off "UAC", otherwise there will be insufficient permissions error prompt box.

③ if the system has a firewall, you must allow it to access the network.

How to use Vistaboot Pro

①current Settings: Here you can view the configuration information for the current boot manager, review the recommended File→check for Updates before checking, or perform a "rescan BCD Registry" rescan. To ensure that the current configuration information is up to date.

②change settings: The user can set up the operating system that is started by default, and select it directly from the Drop-down list box, using the same method as "system Properties→advanced→startup and Recovery". Click "apply!" directly after modifying button to take effect. It is important to note that the option to remove the Vista Boot Loader is also provided here, but use caution before using it because you will not be able to access Vista after the deletion.

③manage Entries: Here you can adjust the order of each item in the Multiple boot menu, select it by "Up" and "Down" two buttons, and of course you can delete a startup item here. You can also add an operating system here. For example, I'm adding an operating system named "Windows XP SP2 Professional" With the Boot program "C."

Note: Some people may ask, XP is not in d? This is because XP main boot file boot.ini and NTLDR and so on in C, do not believe you in XP to all the files and system files displayed, see C disk, they appear.

④backup/restore: This is a feature of Vistabootpro, we can back up the current settings to the file, you can restore the previous personalization at any time.

⑤ Select "Legack Editor" under the "Tools" menu to open Notepad to edit Boot.ini files, and of course you can modify only startup projects except Windows Vista.

Use command "bcdedit" To view settings when you are finished setting

Method: ① Open "Run" (start), enter cmd

② Input Bcdedit
