Facebook Messenger allows users to continuously chat through the desktop, receive notifications, and read the information flow. Facebook says it is currently developing a Mac version of Facebook Messenge, asking users to stay patient. In addition, Facebook's new user registration in many countries has stalled, making it a sign that the world's biggest social networking site is struggling to develop the interactive potential of existing users.
Offline Facebook Chat chat apps are also popular, and Microsoft's Messenger live site allows users to chat with Facebook chat, read friends updates, and share content. Facebook Chat is the most popular app for Facebook, according to AppData, a market research agency, with 22.4 million active users per month, up to 19.1 million active users, and a user with a viscosity of 85.5%.
The Windows version of Facebook Messenger Desktop chat client is also expected to achieve such a user size, because it does not have Hotmail, SkyDrive or other Microsoft features interference.
Facebook likes to test the user's use and acceptance of the product in a small scale before it is officially launched. Facebook has even designed a "goalkeeper" (gatekeeper) infrastructure to manage the testing scope of new products. When testing browser-based products, Facebook has full control over how different features can be displayed and hidden among different users, while users who participate in the tests are not allowed to join or exit at random.
However, when the Windows version of the Facebook Messenger Desktop chat client was tested last November, Facebook accidentally leaked the download address. An Israeli user was given an unprotected download link after taking part in the test, and the user quickly released the link for download.
Based on early testing, the Windows version of the Facebook Messenger desktop chat client, like its mobile client, can improve Facebook user viscosity in the following two ways:
-Continue to connect Facebook chat chat apps can help increase user interaction and attract friends to stay on Facebook for longer.
-Persistent notifications, messages, and buddy requests help users log on multiple times.
Facebook can further increase the time it will take to stay on Facebook after the Mac version of the Facebook Messenger client is published. At present, the average user stays on Facebook for 7 hours per month.
