Oak Ridge National Laboratory recently announced the choice of DataDirect NX as a partner for the world's fastest http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/13840.html "> supercomputer" Titan "builds the world's fastest storage system.
Titan's design peaked at more than 27000 trillion times per second, more than 10 times times the number of similar computers in the previous generation, but more and more experiments have brought astronomical amounts of storage. The "Spider 2" system, built using DataDirect NX's SFA12K-40 storage System, provides 40PB (41.94 million GB) of raw storage space and can process data at an unprecedented rate.
Titan Supercomputer is a Cray XK7 system with 200 cabinets and 18,688 nodes. Each computer node consists of a 16 core AMD Opteron 6274 processor and an NVIDIA Tesla K20 GPU accelerator with 700TB of memory. In addition, 299,008 CPUs can be used to boot simulations, while the GPU is used for brute force data processing.
