Xoopsengine Alpha 1 Publishing Extensible Object-oriented Portal System

On the news released in August 2010, Xoops is moving towards a new architecture. After a few months of refactoring, today we are releasing the Xoopsengine as an Alpha 1 version that is formally tested to the public.

Xoops as an extensible object-oriented portal system, the leading http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/35022.html "> Open source CMS and portal system, now becoming a web and mobile application development platform." Xoopsengine, a code name for this new architecture, supports multiple engine design. There are currently three types of engines to choose from:

* Xoops: The official engine system, the Advanced Zend Framework as the main class library and Smarty as the default template engine, as well as third-party libraries such as jquery. Demo Station www.xoopsengine.org
* Lite: A simplified version of the Xoops engine, without the support of the MySQL database, is designed for high-performance requirements.
* Legacy: Support Xoops legacy modules and themes for backward compatibility.

During refactoring, multiple engine mechanisms have been validated in different types of Web applications.

With other PHP development frameworks such as YII, more engines will be provided by the Xoopsengine development team and encourage community developers to develop their own engines.

Some of the most concerned features (features) in the community have become part of the Xoopsengine:

* Built-in high-performance caching mechanism
* Elegant object-oriented MVC and event hooks
* Extensible URL Rewrite
* Code-free Cloning of applications/modules

More relevant details are being sorted out.

Xoops Engine 2011 Development Plan:

* Release Alpha 1 at the end of January, open community participation
* Alpha 2 released in mid-February, primarily for developers familiar with code and developing the most important applications
* Beta release in early April for end user testing
* June RC Release
* December release of stable edition, celebrating the 10 anniversary of Xoops's creation
