While Microsoft has eased its rules slightly, it requires all government departments to upgrade their PCs to Windows 7 or Windows 8 operating systems after the extended service support contract expires next year. In other words, the British and Dutch governments are basically just getting a year's extra time to prepare for a system upgrade.
